Piers & Catriona | Firle Place
Ever since I met these guys, I knew something awesome would unfold on their wedding day, I just had no Idea it would be this incredible. That's what I love so much about photographing weddings, a beautiful story never fails to reveal itself. Piers and Catriona's wedding was one to remember!
The day kicked off at Catriona's parents house. There was a great level of excitement as Catriona and her team of bridesmaids got ready. We had a great morning with Cara Luck on make up duties and Rachel Hartshorn doing all things hair. Catriona looked stunning in her georgous Stella York design wedding dress from Fross Wedding Collections, Uckfield. The ceremony was held at St Peters Church in West Firle, it was beautiful and full those closest to Piers and Catriona.
Piers and Catriona headed off to their reception at Firle Place in a gorgeous convertible Jaguar e-type. Firle place is a stunning private estate situated in the heart of the South Downs National Park and provided the perfect location for their reception. To get there they drove up its grand driveway which winds itself through Firle park. It looked incredible, stopping half way to take it all in and enjoy a glass of champagne.
Their wedding at Firle Place was truly amazing, the rustic green details and golden canopy lighting in the reception room created a perfect setting. The speeches were brilliant, with a heartfelt speech from Piers and a hilarious best man speech. Not to mention the father of the bride's cue cards (see pictures)! With the sun about to dip below the horizon we made a dash for some final couple pictures in Firle Place's herb garden.
To top the day off, at 21:30 exactly, Piers had organised a surprise plane firework display overhead for Catriona and their guests. It was a fitting end to what was an incredible wedding!
Thanks again to Piers and Catriona for having me along and making me feel so welcome! Here are some of my favourites from the day.
